European Regional Development Fund (Objective 2)
The European Regional Development Fund is provided by the European Union which aims to reduce differences in living standards between member states. There are three priorities for Objective 2 funding:
- Priority One – Developing a Diverse and Dynamic Business Base. The aim is to modernize the traditional manufacturing base and capitalize on technology areas.
- Priority Two – Creating the Conditions for Employment Growth. Assistance is available to reduce unemployment for the most disadvantaged areas of the community.
- Priority Three – Regenerating Communities. Assistance is available for communities to address crime, poor skills, housing and low incomes.
