Transport Interchange
Planning application - Phase 1
We have now received a planning application for Phase 1 of the Transport Interchange covering the bus station.
About the project
The Wolverhampton Transport Interchange project is a £180 million transformation of the city centre which will see new bus and train stations, a new café quarter around the Broad Street Canal Basin, new shops, restaurants, car park and a four-star hotel.
The developer Neptune Developments also plan to demolish the existing station car park and replace it with 1,200 car parking spaces on top of the new train station. There will also be 200,000 sq ft of new, high quality public space opened up, connecting Queen Street and the wider city centre.
Our image gallery gives and idea as to how the project may look when completed.
