Standing list

Building works and maintenance contracts

The Procurement Process

For works contracts above the EU threshold (around £3.8M total contract value) the Council follows the European Procurement Regulations and advertises the opportunity in the Official Journal.

For works and construction related contracts below EU level generally there will be no advertisement and only firms chosen from the Standing List will be invited to tender.  However where contract is highly specialised or there may be a limited number of suppliers that can carry out the work required a tendering exercise maybe undertaken.

Standing List

The Standing List contains approximately 400 approved categories, ranging from general building repair work to the supply of consultants to support specific projects related to construction.

To join on the Standing List you need to complete a questionnaire and produce evidence of the firm’s financial status, technical ability, health and safety, quality and equality issues.

You can download an application form here.

Questionnaire for organisations wishing to join the Standing List

Please ensure that you read the instructions for completing the form carefully and complete all the sections otherwise your application will be delayed.

The Council uses a set selection process to choose firms from the Standing List and ensure fair competition.

If you need any further information on the operation of the Council's Standing List please contact us.
