Licensing Act 2003

There are four main licences under the Licensing Act 2003.

Premises licence

A premises licence authorises relevant licensable activities, at named premises. Including regulated entertainment, late night refreshment and the sale of alcohol.

Personal licence 

A personal licence authorises an individual to sell alcohol from authorised premises.

Club premises certificate 

A Club Premises Certificate authorises relevant licensable activities, at what is now called a registered club. Including regulated entertainment, late night refreshment and the supply of alcohol.

Temporary Event Notice

A Temporary Event Notice authorises licensable activities where it is proposed to use premises for less than 96 hours.
