Safety of Sports Grounds
Under the Safety of Sports Grounds Act 1975 and the Fire Safety and Safety of Places of Sport Act 1987, councils are required to certify certain stadia.
The legislation applies to any designated sporting activity taking place before a covered grandstand capable of holding 500 spectators or more.
