Health and safety investigations
The Food and Environmental Safety Service will investigate complaints and cases of reportable accidents, dangerous occurrences and reportable diseases, made under the 'Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 1995', at premises within Wolverhampton, for which they are the enforcing authority.
Complaints made by employees
Employees may wish to complain about their work environment, work procedure or work activity where they believe there is a risk of injury to their health, safety or welfare, or there is a risk to someone else's health, safety or welfare.
For further information please visit the Health and Safety Executive website.
Complaints made by members of the public
Members of the public may observe or be involved in activities in connection with a work activity which they believe either exposes themselves or others to a risk of them being harmed.
Notifications of accidents, dangerous occurrences or diseases at work
It is a requirement for employers to report certain types of work-related accidents, diseases or dangerous occurrences. Further information is available on reportable accidents, diseases and dangerous occurrences.
Officers of the Food and Environmental Safety Service will investigate the most serious of these to establish whether health and safety legal requirements have been broken and to attempt to prevent similar accidents from occurring on future occasions.
Information on the correct reporting procedure is available.
