Fairtrade at work
Wolverhampton Council is already a Fairtrade workplace with Fairtrade options available for staff to buy and Fairtrade products being provided at civic functions.
Councillor Alan Hart said, “Being a better global neighbour has real resonance in Wolverhampton because we’re a multi-cultural and multi-ethnic city.
As a council we don’t want to export any problems from Wolverhampton into the wider world, and exploiting tea and coffee growers in developing countries isn’t something we intend to do.
We are committed to being a Fairtrade council in a Fairtrade city and I feel it is important for us to take actions that create genuine change.”
