Wolverhampton City Fairtrade Partnership

The Wolverhampton City Fairtrade Partnership came together in September 2003 and in March 2004, Wolverhampton achieved 'Fairtrade City' status.

Since then, a considerable amount of work has been undertaken to promote the concept and practice of Fairtrade in schools, businesses, community and faith groups.

With the support of the local business community, a range of Fairtrade goods are readily available in the city’s shops.  Fairtrade products are also being served in local cafes and catering establishments as well as being used in a number of local work places including flagship employers in Wolverhampton.

What does the partnership do?

The Wolverhampton City Fairtrade Partnership ensures continued commitment to the Fairtrade City Status.  Fairtrade products are stocked by an increasing number of outlets and work has successfully continued to bring more organisations onboard.

What types of Fairtrade products are available?

There are thousands of Fairtrade products available from coffee, bananas and biscuits to body scrub and fashionable cotton T-shirts.

Where can I find Fairtrade products?

You can find products carrying the Fairtrade mark in local supermarkets, stores, cafés, bars and restaurants, health food shops, catering suppliers, by mail order and online.

You can help to support Fairtrade by asking for Fairtrade products in your workplace, favourite café or restaurant.

Where is the nearest Traidcraft store?

Darlington Street Methodist Church (school street entrance) has a Traidcraft store which offers the largest number and variety of Fairtrade goods to buy in the city, including tea, coffee, chocolate, cookies, honey, snacks and T-shirts.

The store is open 10am to 4pm Wednesdays, 5.30pm to 7.30pm Wednesdays and Thursdays and 11.30am to 2pm Fridays. For enquiries ring 01902 833436.

What about Traidcraft stalls?

If you would like to run a stall at your school, local group or event, the store can supply the goods on a regular basis or for one-off events. Telephone 01902 714793 for further information.
