New Entrepreneur Scholarships

Need a hand to start your own business or go self-employed?

If you have a business idea but don’t know how to take it forward, or you’re finding it difficult to get started, New Entrepreneur Scholarships (NES) may be the programme for you.

NES is a fully subsidised programme funded through the Learning and Skills Council that aims to help people set up in business by offering comprehensive part-time, flexible support and grant funding to scholars.

They provide help and guidance on:

  • Starting your business
  • Grants and loans
  • Business planning
  • Marketing and market research
  • Book-keeping and accounts
  • Tax, national insurance and VAT
  • Legal aspects
  • Personal development
  • Financial awareness
  • Confidence building

This is a business preparation programme for those individuals wishing to start up in business or become self-employed.
