They were invited to a special event in Wednesfield last week organised by the City of Wolverhampton Council's School Standards Team where they had the chance to meet other members of the "class of 2016".
Mayor of Wolverhampton Councillor Barry Findlay, Cabinet Member for Education Councillor Claire Darke, Assistant Director of Education Alex Jones and members of the School Standards Team were all present to welcome the newly qualified teachers into the profession.
The event gave the new intake the chance to meet one another and also build links with local museums, activity centres and professional bodies who will support the teachers and their pupils now and in their future career in Wolverhampton.
Councillor Darke said: "This is a fantastic time to be joining Wolverhampton's education system and it was a pleasure to welcome so many dedicated new comers to our schools.
"It was a fantastic opportunity for the newly qualified teachers to meet one another, and also hear about some of the excellent work taking place to raise educational standards in the city.
"We now have more good and outstanding-rated schools than ever before, and we are also celebrating some superb results at both Key Stages 2 and 4, but we are not resting on our laurels and the class of 2016 will have an important role to play in further raising standards in the coming months and years."
Mayor Councillor Findlay added: "We value our teachers and the work they do. It has been a privilege to meet so many of the newest teachers to the profession who are set to bring new energy, enthusiasm and ideas to our schools.
"I'd like to wish all our new teachers a long, happy and very successful career."
The City of Wolverhampton Council's Schools Standards Team works with schools to promote the highest educational standards.
