Q: What are the advantages of having the service?

A: Wolverhampton City Council has over 25 years' experience in delivering a meals on wheels service, we are a caring organisation that demands high standards, the cost of the meal includes a main meal and a dessert, with no additional delivery charges, our helpful, dedicated, friendly drivers deliver more than just a meal, we can give families peace of mind that when we do the daily visual check on our customers we will call you if we have any concerns about their health and wellbeing.

Q: Do I need to be assessed?

A: No, here in Wolverhampton our meals on wheels are open to all residents of the city.

Q: How do I apply?

A: You can either complete our Meals on Wheels Request Form, or you can email a request to mealsonwheels@wolverhampton.gov.uk or alternatively you can call 01902 556677.

If you apply before 9.00 am you will be able to start the service on the same day.

Q: Is there much choice on the menu?

A: Our menus work on a two week cycle.  During the two weeks there are a range of over 56 different main courses accompanied by a wide range of desserts for you to choose from, offering you plenty of choice.

Q: How often can I have a meal?

A: Our service delivers hot nutritious meals 365 days of the year. Our service prides itself in being flexible to our customers, so you can have it as many times a week as you require. We can also deliver at the same time an afternoon tea which you can have later on in the evening.

Q: What time will my meal arrive?

A: Our dedicated team of drivers will deliver to you between 11.30 am and 2.00 pm

Q: What if I have a Doctors or Hospital appointment?

A: You have two options, you can cancel your meal, no charge will be made if you call us before 9.00 am on the day or you have given us prior notice.

Or we can, on the day before your appointment deliver your meal frozen so you can heat it up in your own oven up on your return from your appointment.

Q: What if I have dietary requirement?

A: Some dietary requirements can be catered for speak to our dedicated team who will advise.

Q: How do I pay for my meals?

A: Meals can be paid by setting up a secure Direct Debit, each month you will be sent an invoice in arrears informing you of the charges for the month.

Q: I live on the border of Wolverhampton, can I have a meal?

A: If you don't ask, you'll never know! Give us a call and we will see if we can deliver to you, as our service is constantly growing.

Q: Can I reheat the meal and eat later?

A: We would advise that the meal is eaten on arrival, if you do require a meal for later you could have an afternoon tea delivered alongside your hot meal.
