Prospective learners can find out about the courses on offer from Wolverhampton's Outstanding rated Adult Education Service at a special Open Day next weekend.

Whether people are looking to gain a new qualification or skill, take up a hobby or improve their health and wellbeing, there is a wide variety of subjects to choose from.

They include English, Maths, ICT, business administration, teaching, working with children, care, health and safety, media, languages, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), art, crafts and creative studies.

Many courses lead to national qualifications, while others offer adults the chance to learn for pleasure. For many students these courses are free.

Courses which prepare students for higher education or lead directly to employment are also available.

Councillor Claire Darke, Wolverhampton City Council's Cabinet Member for Education, said: "Wolverhampton Adult Education Service offers a great range of high quality academic and informal courses. Enrolling on one is an excellent way to develop new skills or simply learn for enjoyment.

"Our Adult Education Service was rated Outstanding by Ofsted last December - 1 of only 3 adult education services in the country to achieve this top rating - so there couldn't be a better time to consider signing up for one of the courses."

People can find out more about the courses available at Wolverhampton Adult Education Service's Open Day, which takes place on Saturday 20 June 2015, from 10am to 2pm at the Foyer Building, Old Hall Street, Wolverhampton.
