Mayor puts the kettle on for charity fundraiser

Wolverhampton Mayor Councillor Milkinder Jaspal will be putting the kettle on for a charity coffee morning.

The Easter event takes place on Tuesday 15 April, 2014, and all proceeds will go to his charities, Guide Dogs, St Peter's Collegiate Church and the Black Country branch of the MS Society.

Tickets are £1.50 per person, payable on the door, which includes tea or coffee, a hot cross bun and entertainment. Tombola prizes will also be up for grabs at the event which runs from 10.30am to 12pm.

For more information please call the Mayor's Office on 01902 554090 or e-mail mayoral@wolverhampton.gov.uk.

Meanwhile, Mayor Councillor Jaspal is appealing for raffle and tombola prizes to help raise money for charity.

He said: "Thanks to the kindness of the people of Wolverhampton, we have raised a lot of money for local good causes by raffling off prizes at many of our charity events, but we rely on donations of good quality items that we can give away."

Anyone who wants to donate any unwanted and unused gift items, in their original packaging, can do so by calling the Mayor's office on 01902 554090 or emailing themayor@wolverhampton.gov.uk.
