The Dogs on Lead By Direction Wolverhampton Order 2007

This Order applies to all land in the open air to which the Public are entitled or permitted to have access within the Wolverhampton City Council area.

It is an offence for anyone in charge of a dog on such open land not to place a dog on lead and/keep a dog on lead when directed to do so by an authorised officer.

Penalties

A person who is guilty of an offence under the Dogs on Lead By Direction Wolverhampton Order 2007 would be issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice of £50. Failure to pay the notice would result in prosecution with a maximum fine of £1,000.

No offence shall be committed where a person has reasonable excuse for failing to comply with the order or a person is acting with the consent of the owner or occupier of the land, or any other authority which has control of the land.
