Wolverhampton Small Casino Licence

Wolverhampton is a hub for entertainment and leisure. Located in the heart of the UK we have excellent transport links with the rest of the country, Europe and the World. We are proud to be home to a number of international sporting and leisure venues. With a population of 582,000 within a 20 minutes' driver time of the city centre Wolverhampton is a major visitor destination.

Major private and public investment has already been committed to the regeneration of the city and city centre, which is a priority of the City Council and its partners. The Small Casino Licence provides a further opportunity for investment and growth in the city.

The council approved the following applications which will now proceed through to Stage 2:

  • Casino 36 Limited, The Rubicon Casino, 56-58 Temple Street, Wolverhampton (including the premises formerly known as Beach Nightclub, Temple Street, Wolverhampton)
  • Wolverhampton Racecourse Limited, Dunstall Park, Wolverhampton

Stage 2 evaluation panel

The Council is now seeking suitable qualified and experienced experts to provide advice, as a member of the Evaluation Panel to the Licensing Committee in the process of making their decision on the granting of the Small Casino Licence under the Gambling Act 2005 in the following fields:

  • finance
  • regeneration
  • legal
  • gambling Industry
