Commercial waste

Request a commercial waste removal.

You must deal responsibly with any waste your business produces in England. This is known as your 'duty of care'.

Business waste includes any waste that comes from:

  • any commercial activity - including any you run from your home
  • construction
  • demolition
  • industry
  • agriculture

Business or commercial waste is not accepted at the Household Waste Recycling Centres in Wolverhampton - these sites are provided for the disposal of household waste only.

Duty of Care

Current legislation Section 34 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 places a "Duty of Care" on commercial premises to ensure that waste produced by (or at) business premises is collected and disposed of by a registered or licenced waste carrier or waste collection authority. This includes waste from any commercial activity run from a household.

Here you can find more information on your responsibilities for commercial or business waste.

There are many different waste management companies operating collection services locally. The Environment Agency website contains a list of registered waste carriers

Commercial waste collections and mixed recycling

We also offer a mixed recycling, cardboard/paper, food waste and glass service. Food waste and glass collections are in 240 litre bins only. Recycling can be more cost effective and is better for the environment.
