Wolverhampton's Register Office will unveil its new look refurbished venue with a wedding fayre next month (May 2013).

Local wedding businesses have been invited to showcase their products at the event and promote their services to the public.

Wedding dresses, cars, flowers, photography, suits and catering options will all be on display.

The wedding fayre will take place at the register office, which is located off Wulfruna Street at the back of the Civic Centre, on Saturday 11 May, from 10am to 3pm.

As well as the fayre, the register office's brand new Lady Wulfruna Suite will be officially opened by the Mayor of Wolverhampton Councillor Christine Mills.

Councillor John Reynolds, Wolverhampton City Council's Cabinet Member for City Services, said: "This is a great opportunity for members of the public to find out what is available to them at our register office facilities and how local wedding businesses can make their big day really special.

"We are hoping that our newly refurbished register office will provide a fitting setting for thousands of weddings and civil partnerships for years to come.

"The refurbishment of the register office and ceremony rooms has created attractive surroundings for people to enjoy their big day."

As part of the £120,000 refurbishment, the register office ceremony rooms have been given a makeover, and a new large ceremony room has been created.

The new larger ceremony room has also been created to cater for the many larger wedding and civil partnership requests that have been received recently.

The Lady Wulfruna Suite has been granted an "approved premise" status meaning it can host wedding and civil partnership ceremonies.
