The Natural History Museum's 52nd World Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition opened at the Lichfield Street gallery in July - and runs until 1 October.

Within weeks, hundreds of visitors have already made the most of the show and enjoyed the chance to see stunning wildlife photography.

It is the second year Wolverhampton Art Gallery has hosted the show, which last year won the thumbs up from visitors.

Comments included:

"A much nicer space than London. Beautifully curated. I like the atmosphere soundtrack."

"Absolutely wonderful. The patience and determination of the photographers rewards us with this stunning display. Great value too."

"Fantastic. Excellent curation and a lovely space to reflect on photos. A bargain. Hope it comes again next year."

Wildlife Photographer of the Year is the most prestigious photography event of its kind, providing a global platform that has showcased the natural world's most astonishing and challenging sights for more than 50 years.

Gallery bosses say this year's show is great value for money with prices £4 for adults, £2 children and family tickets £10 (2 adults and 2 children).

You can book tickets online at the Ticket Factory.

City of Wolverhampton Council Cabinet Member for City Economy, Councillor John Reynolds, said: "Last year the show attracted thousands of visitors and we had such positive feedback that it was decided to host it again this year.

"These photographs are stunning. I hope people will make the most of the fact they are here in Wolverhampton, meaning there is no need for an expensive trip to London to see a world class exhibition."
